We've got the answers for your questions

What is full body scan thermography?

Full body scan thermography, also known as Digital Infrared Thermal Imaging (DITI), is a non-invasive diagnostic procedure that captures images of the infrared heat emitting from the body. This technique provides a visual map of the body's thermal patterns, offering insights into physiological changes that could indicate inflammation, pain, or potential health issues.

What can I expect from my full body thermogram?

You can expect a non-contact, private, and comfortable experience. You will change into a gown, removing all clothing and jewelry for a complete scan. The certified thermographer will guide you through the process, typically lasting 15 to 50 minutes, depending on the scope of the areas being scanned.

Is full body Thermography Safe?

Absolutely. Full body thermography is a safe, radiation-free procedure with no side effects

What can full body thermography detect?

Thermography can detect a range of conditions related to abnormal thermal patterns such as inflammatory processes, circulatory issues, neurological disorders, and other abnormalities.

How often should I get a full body thermography scan?

The frequency of scans depends on individual health needs. Your healthcare provider can help determine an appropriate schedule, but annual scans are common for monitoring health or evaluating the progress of treatment plans.

Is full body thermography covered by insurance?

Thermography coverage varies by insurance provider and plan. It's advisable to check with your insurance company regarding the specifics of your coverage.

While some insurance plans may not cover the cost of thermography screenings, many patients find the benefits outweigh the out-of-pocket cost.

Anyone seeking a non-invasive method to monitor their body for early signs of disease or for diagnostic purposes can benefit, particularly those looking for a radiation-free alternative.

Who reads the thermogram images and reports?

A board-certified thermologist interprets the images and provides a detailed report.

Do I need a doctor's referral or order for a full body thermography scan?

No, anyone is welcome to schedule an appointment without referral. However, if your insurance covers Thermographic services and you wish to file an insurance claim, having a doctor's order can be beneficial. Please consult your individual insurance provide for requirements and coverage.

Please note, while we don't engage in billing or insurance claim assistance, a detailed receipt will be provided for your filing purposes.

How quickly will I get my thermogram results and what can I do with them?

Typically, reports are furnished within a span of 7-10 days. Upon completion, the encrypted PDF or printed versions of your report and images can be shared with you and/or your healthcare provider. We encourage collaboration with your existing physician or health care practitioner regarding the findings in your report.

How can I use thermography to prevent athletic injury?

Athletes can use thermography to identify areas of potential inflammation or strain by revealing asymmetrical thermal patterns that might indicate overuse or injury risk, allowing for preventative measures to be taken.

Remember that while thermography is a valuable diagnostic tool, it should be used alongside other medical evaluations and not as a sole method for diagnosis or injury prevention. Always consult with your healthcare provider when assessing your health and the role of different diagnostic tools.
