Full body scan thermography, also known as Digital Infrared Thermal Imaging (DITI), is a non-invasive diagnostic procedure that captures images of the infrared heat emitting from the body. This technique provides a visual map of the body's thermal patterns, offering insights into physiological changes that could indicate inflammation, pain, or potential health issues.
You can expect a non-contact, private, and comfortable experience. You will change into a gown, removing all clothing and jewelry for a complete scan. The certified thermographer will guide you through the process, typically lasting 15 to 50 minutes, depending on the scope of the areas being scanned.
Absolutely. Full body thermography is a safe, radiation-free procedure with no side effects
Thermography can detect a range of conditions related to abnormal thermal patterns such as inflammatory processes, circulatory issues, neurological disorders, and other abnormalities.

The frequency of scans depends on individual health needs. Your healthcare provider can help determine an appropriate schedule, but annual scans are common for monitoring health or evaluating the progress of treatment plans.
Thermography coverage varies by insurance provider and plan. It's advisable to check with your insurance company regarding the specifics of your coverage.
While some insurance plans may not cover the cost of thermography screenings, many patients find the benefits outweigh the out-of-pocket cost.

Athletes can use thermography to identify areas of potential inflammation or strain by revealing asymmetrical thermal patterns that might indicate overuse or injury risk, allowing for preventative measures to be taken.
Remember that while thermography is a valuable diagnostic tool, it should be used alongside other medical evaluations and not as a sole method for diagnosis or injury prevention. Always consult with your healthcare provider when assessing your health and the role of different diagnostic tools.
